UEFA Champions League coverage on CBS has its share of zany moments, and host Kate Scott (née Abdo) along with analysts Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, and Micah Richards excel at bringing entertaining banter to the forefront. However, even the keenest Champions League viewers were caught off guard during the recent studio coverage for Wednesday’s matches.
Throughout the season, Richards has developed a fondness for the French side Stade Brestois, mostly due to its name. The team, colloquially known as “Brest,” has frequently been a source of humorous moments for the CBS crew, particularly for Richards.
They really banned @MicahRichards from this segment and it’s probably for the Brest 🤷♂️ pic.twitter.com/kxHTEbATLQ

So, it was a delightful surprise for Richards when he learned that Brest had sent a handwritten note to the network’s Champions League crew, accompanied by jerseys for him and Henry. The twist? Thierry Henry’s jersey featured his name, while Micah Richards’ jersey had something quite different.

Indeed, Stade Brestois presented Richards with a custom “Brest Lover” jersey, which he wore proudly over his dress shirt. “I’ve never been able to get me hands on Brest,” joked Carragher, who did not receive a jersey of his own. It’s surprising that the team doesn’t market these kits online; they would likely fly off the shelves.
