As she prepares for her return to the WNBA this spring, Stanford alum and Los Angeles Sparks star Cameron Brink is launching a podcast with Wave Sports + Entertainment. Brink will join the growing trend of athlete-hosted podcasts, coinciding with the explosive growth of women’s basketball, as she debuts Straight to Cam alongside cohost Sydel Curry-Lee on Jan. 28.
In a trailer for the show, Brink remarked, “Shoutout to the WNBA and Unrivaled, yes we’ll talk some NBA too. Maybe some DMs, maybe some dating stories, and we’ll have our friends and family on as guests.”
The Brinks and the Currys share a long-standing friendship, making Sydel (sister of Steph Curry) an ideal cohost. As a content creator and influencer herself, Curry-Lee is expected to bring her audience along to Brink’s show. Despite having torn her ACL shortly into her rookie season after a stellar career in Palo Alto, Brink remains a highly popular player in basketball, being the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.
Brink also recently invested in Unrivaled, a new 3-on-3 women’s basketball league based in Miami, with plans to play for the league in 2026. While athlete-hosted podcasts have seen significant growth in recent years, Brink and Angel Reese stand out as the only top stars in the league with their own shows. Brink’s agency, CAA, is actively creating opportunities for athletes in digital media, with fellow CAA basketball stars like Paul George, Carmelo Anthony, and Jalen Brunson also joining in.
Given the ongoing interest in the youngest generation of WNBA athletes, Straight to Cam is launching at a timely moment.
