On Wednesday, CBS, ESPN, and Amazon unveiled comprehensive broadcast plans for the 2025 NWSL season. CBS, the league’s primary broadcast partner, will air 63 matches across its platforms, including 14 on the CBS broadcast channel and an additional 10 on CBS Sports Network. The remainder will be available for streaming on Paramount+, with 27 matches also broadcast on CBS Sports Golazo, a free ad-supported television network.
All postseason matches from CBS will include one quarterfinal, one semifinal, and the championship match, which will again be showcased in primetime for the fourth consecutive year. The 2025 season marks Year 2 of a four-year media rights agreement involving CBS, ESPN, Prime Video, and Ion. Notably, last year’s championship game attracted almost a million viewers on CBS, setting a record for the league.
As for ESPN’s coverage, the network will broadcast 20 NWSL games during the season, including three playoff matches. The schedule includes six matches on ABC, ten on ESPN, and four on ESPN2, featuring a strong lineup where 13 of the 15 regular season matches include teams that participated in the previous season’s playoffs. Among these, nine matches involve teams that were part of last year’s postseason.
ABC has notable matches lined up, particularly featuring standout USWNT forwards such as Trinity Rodman, Sophia Smith, and Mallory Swanson. Meanwhile, Amazon’s Prime Video will stream 27 matches this season, which includes 25 regular season games on Friday nights, one quarterfinal, and the NWSL Challenge Cup—a rematch of last year’s championship between the Orlando Pride and Washington Spirit. Coverage details for Ion, the NWSL’s fourth broadcast partner, are yet to be disclosed, but they are expected to align with last year’s model of Saturday night doubleheaders.
