Katie Nolan Addresses Allegations Against Charlie Dixon

In a notable shift within sports media, few have vocalized the accumulating allegations against Fox Sports executive Charlie Dixon—until now. Katie Nolan has joined the conversation, albeit in a brief yet impactful manner.

“Charlie Dixon sucks. On the record,” Nolan wrote in an email to The Cut, breaking the industry-wide silence surrounding Dixon, who has been on leave from Fox Sports since February. Her comment was a direct response to The Cut’s inquiry about the serious allegations Dixon now faces in two separate lawsuits—one from former Fox Sports host Julie Stewart-Binks and another from former hairstylist Noushin Faraji. Both lawsuits accuse Dixon of sexual misconduct and bring to light troubling details about his behavior and the overarching culture at Fox Sports during his tenure.

Stewart-Binks alleges that during a 2016 meeting in Dixon’s hotel room to discuss a Super Bowl assignment, he pinned her against a wall, held her arms, and forcibly kissed her. In a recent court filing, Dixon denied these accusations, asserting there was “no sexual or offensive contact.” Furthermore, Stewart-Binks revisits a controversial moment from her career involving a televised lap dance with Rob Gronkowski during her time at Fox Sports. While presented as lighthearted entertainment, she now describes feeling coerced into participating, fearing for her job after criticism from Dixon regarding her on-air presence. “Had I not (done it), I would have felt like I failed and that I would have confirmed what (Dixon) told me,” she revealed to The Athletic’s Katie Strang.

Hours later, Nolan expressed her disapproval of the segment to GQ, stating, “I think when we’re in sports, and there are only so many women, and that’s how a show chooses to use them…” Her 2016 remarks about the treatment of women in sports resonate more profoundly today, especially as the allegations against Dixon—including Faraji’s claim that he grabbed her buttocks at a birthday party—and the toxic workplace culture at Fox Sports are increasingly revealed. Amid this silence from others in the industry, Katie Nolan’s candid dismissal of Charlie Dixon carries significant weight.
