Oregon State and Washington State Close to Finalizing TV Deal with The CW

After one year on The CW as part of the “Pac-2,” it appears that Oregon State and Washington State are gearing up for more. According to Oregon-based sports writer John Canzano, the Beavers and Cougars “are in advanced discussions on a media rights deal involving their 2025 home football games.” The CW, which had previously secured a deal to air most of their home football games last season, is expected to broadcast as many as nine games between the two schools.

The remaining four home games for both schools would be aired on other significant network partners, as reported by Canzano. Last season, Fox acquired two games, including the Civil War matchup between Oregon and Oregon State, along with a Texas Tech-Washington State game. Currently, Fox and TNT are in consideration for the remaining four games, but other notable networks might also show interest.

In terms of matchups, Oregon State will host California, Wake Forest, and Houston this season, while Washington State faces off against in-state rival Washington. Interestingly, the Beavers and Cougars will play each other twice in a home-and-home matchup, adding to their notable schedules. Furthermore, the broadcast agreements negotiated for the 2025 season could pave the way for future contracts for 2026 and beyond when the Pac-12 plans to incorporate several Mountain West schools. Canzano notes that the two negotiations have progressed concurrently, and reports released earlier this year suggest that conference commissioner Teresa Gould anticipates a media rights package involving multiple networks for the upcoming season.

Finalization of media rights deals for the next season is expected by the end of April.
