For the past 14 years, CBS Sports’ Jerry Palm has been a highly respected bracketologist in college basketball. On Friday, he announced he would be seeking a new opportunity ahead of the 2025 college basketball season, expressing gratitude for his time at CBS.
After 14 years, my time at CBS has come to an end. It is the best job I ever had. I am grateful to have worked with so many people who are not just great at what they do, but great people too. I don’t know what is next for me yet, so stay tuned.

Palm is widely regarded as a pioneer in the bracketology industry, being the first media member to introduce RPI as a metric considered by the selection committee when determining the tournament field. While known for his expertise in college basketball, he has also predicted teams for the College Football Playoff for CBS.
As fans wait to see where he will land next, it’s clear that his reputation will attract interest from other networks. His colleagues at CBS expressed their gratitude for his contributions during his tenure in a series of posts on X.
We’ll miss you, Jerry!

A pioneer in the industry. Will miss the HQ hits with you. Those were always good fun. And I look forward to seeing you in Indy at next year’s Final Four as well.
