One of the dangers of social media is that even the most harmless posts can unexpectedly resurface to haunt you. Just ask the Baltimore Ravens. Before the highly anticipated Divisional Round clash with the Buffalo Bills, the Ravens’ social media team aimed to showcase their team’s nonchalance towards the snowy conditions of Western New York. “A little snow doesn’t bother @Mandrews_81,” read their post on X, featuring tight end Mark Andrews in shorts and a sleeveless shirt while snowflakes fell in frigid temperatures.

If you watched the game that followed, it became clear why this post would haunt Baltimore. Down 27-19 late in the fourth quarter, Lamar Jackson orchestrated an eight-play, 88-yard touchdown drive that brought them within two points. On the subsequent two-point conversion, Jackson rolled right and found an open Andrews at the goal line. Yet, as Andrews crossed the plane, he appeared to lose his footing slightly and bobbled the ball before it hit the ground, resulting in a failed conversion and a heartbreaking loss for Baltimore. Both Jackson and head coach John Harbaugh quickly defended their tight end, who had concluded the regular season with 55 receptions for 673 yards and 11 touchdowns. Nevertheless, it seemed quite evident that, in this instance, a little snow had indeed caused trouble for Andrews.
