Jameis Winston, who served as a correspondent for Fox during the buildup to Super Bowl LIX, signed with the New York Giants on Friday, seemingly heeding the advice of Saquon Barkley. On Opening Night, now known as FKA Media Day, Winston was among several reporters engaging with the Philadelphia Eagles star. However, as an active player and, at that time, a pending free agent, his questions took on a unique perspective.
“In this free agency, man — I’m a free agent, I really don’t got no job,” Winston expressed. “Who should sign me in free agency?” Barkley responded, “I think New York needs a quarterback right now.” When Winston queried, “New York who?” Barkley clarified that he was referring to his former team, “The Giants.”

On Friday, Barkley’s suggestion became a reality as the Giants finalized a 2-year, $8M deal with Winston, which could reach up to $16M with incentives, multiple sources report.
