Rob Gronkowski’s second NFL comeback attempt ended before it began — because it never truly existed. On Tuesday, Cecil Lammey of FootballGuys.com reported that the Fox NFL analyst was contemplating a return to play for the Denver Broncos. This information was shared via a source Lammey felt “comfortable” with, but NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport swiftly dismissed it as “nonsense.”
To further clarify, Gronkowski himself quashed the speculation during a conversation with Fox Sports NFL insider Jordan Schultz on Wednesday, stating, “Crazy, bro. They must know something about me that I don’t. I wish I still had those powers, because that would be cool if I did. But I was just in Australia for a few days. Now it’s time to relax a little. No football.”
I asked Rob Gronkowski about his so-called NFL comeback. Here’s what Gronk had to say:

So, there you have it — straight from the source. The 36-year-old four-time Super Bowl champion has no intention of suiting up again. He is perfectly content with his role at Fox, even if Terry Bradshaw occasionally forgets he’s on Fox NFL Sunday. Gronk is busy jumping out of helicopters and getting pranked on TV. While Mike Francesa may think it makes him look like a “clown,” Gronk seems to embrace the spectacle. The only thing that might lure him back onto the field is his Fox colleague, Tom Brady.
Sure, he might miss a studio appearance here and there to open a Dick’s Sporting Goods in New Hampshire. However, risking more injuries to play alongside Bo Nix and Sean Payton?
Not happening.
