Richardson played in the NBA from 2000 to 2013, representing teams including the Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks, Miami Heat, and Orlando Magic. His standout season in Phoenix (2004-05) was marked by setting a team record for three-pointers (226), which co-led the league, and winning the three-point contest at that year’s All-Star Weekend. On an episode of Knuckleheads podcast with ex-teammate Darius Miles last fall, Richardson described this season as his favorite. Along with this experience, he also served as the director of player development for the Detroit Pistons after his playing career.
Following his playing and coaching careers, Richardson has built a solid media profile. He has appeared on ESPN, worked as a studio analyst for Orlando Magic broadcasts on Fox Sports/Bally Sports/FanDuel Sports Network Florida since 2019 and done college basketball work. Additionally, he launched Knuckleheads with Miles and The Players’ Tribune that year. Beyond these appearances, Richardson has engaged in NBA League Pass “HooperVision” alternate broadcasts, frequently alongside Jamal Crawford and contributed to the Clippers’ “BallerVision” streaming feed. He has also been a regular guest on SportsCenter and appeared on ESPN’s digital show Countdown To GameDay for college basketball.
