Dwayne Johnson, known as The Rock, made a triumphant return to WWE during Friday night’s episode of SmackDown in New Orleans, where he had exciting news for the audience. “WrestleMania is coming back to New Orleans,” The Rock, who serves on the board of WWE’s parent company, TKO, announced. “We’re gonna make it official right now, in front of the world. Next year, 2026, WrestleMania 42, live from the Superdome in one of the greatest cities on earth, New Orleans, Louisiana.”

New Orleans has previously hosted WrestleMania 30 in 2014 and WrestleMania 34 in 2018, both at the Superdome. However, a notable change for WrestleMania 42 is that it will now span two days, scheduled for Saturday, April 11, and Sunday, April 12.
In addition, there may be changes in how fans can access the event. WrestleMania 41 (on April 19-20, 2025) will mark the end of WWE’s agreement with Peacock, which has been streaming every WrestleMania and other Premium Live Events since WrestleMania 37 in 2021.
