Oregon Secures Prominent SEC Transfer

The Oregon Ducks are active in the NCAA transfer portal, having landed a quality transfer from the Southeastern Conference on Monday. Former Ole Miss safety Jadon Canady has committed to Oregon through the portal, adding to the Ducks’ secondary with one year of eligibility remaining, meaning 2025 is his final season in green and yellow. On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported Canady’s move, stating: “Former Tulane and Ole Miss DB Jadon Canady has committed to Oregon,” he said.

Oregon hopes Canady can bolster a talented secondary in Eugene next season, addressing needs as they prepare to lose several veterans to graduation. This addition is undoubtedly beneficial for the team.

In their impressive journey, Oregon achieved its first 12-0 regular season since 2010, making it to the National Championship Game. They followed that success with a historic 13-0 season, winning the Big Ten Championship in their first year in the conference by defeating Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State—an unprecedented accomplishment in a single regular season. However, Oregon’s season concluded abruptly at the start of 2025 when Ohio State avenged a prior defeat by overpowering the Ducks in the Rose Bowl, leading the Buckeyes to win the National Championship in the inaugural year of the 12-team College Football Playoff.

Looking ahead to 2025, Oregon is set to return with renewed determination. The Ducks have a favorable schedule and are loaded with talent once again.
