We’re just one weekend away from the year’s biggest sporting event: the Super Bowl, which in 2023 features a rematch between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. In Super Bowl LVII, the Chiefs emerged victorious, aiming for what would be the first three-peat in NFL history.
Despite some fluctuations in his performance this season and whispers regarding his potential retirement, star Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has consistently stepped up in crucial moments, leading his team back to the season’s final showdown. Now, he’s challenging another player in the NFL to exhibit that same level of consistency.
“There’s been a lot of quarterbacks that have one really good season as their first year. We’ll see Jayden. That’s a challenge to you, brother,” Kelce remarked during his New Heights podcast while referencing Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels after his impressive rookie season. “I want to see it, I know I want to see it. I’m a fan.”

Fans have taken to social media to respond to Kelce’s challenge. One fan wrote on Twitter, “Did anyone catch Jayden after the game and locker clean out? Does anyone really think he’s going to be a one-hit wonder? He’s going to grind in the lab all offseason. I think the question is, will Jayden be the first Redskins/Commanders QB ever to throw 30 TDs (or 40 next year)?” Another remarked, “acting like Jayden didn’t torch (the Eagles) defense with a 10-minute drive and a 40-yard touchdown while the team killed his momentum by fumbling three times.” A third fan added, “It’s a valid challenge as teams can now see what Jayden is capable of at the NFL level and properly game plan for years to come.” It’ll be intriguing to see what the future holds for Daniels.
