The sports media world was stunned earlier this month with a shocking lawsuit alleging sexual assault against a high-ranking Fox Sports executive. This was followed by another lawsuit filed by former FS1 host Julie Stewart-Binks, who claims she was sexually assaulted by Fox Sports executive Charlie Dixon.
Earlier in January, former Fox Sports hairstylist Noushin Faraji lodged a workplace misconduct lawsuit in California that included numerous explosive allegations. These allegations asserted that Skip Bayless offered her $1.5 million for sex, and that current FS1 host Joy Taylor was involved in an affair with Dixon, who allegedly groped Faraji and terminated another female employee for denying his sexual advances.
Julie Stewart-Binks’ lawsuit filed in Los Angeles on Friday focuses on Charlie Dixon, who has served as Fox Sports Executive Vice President of Content for FS1 since 2015. Katie Strang at The Athletic broke the news of this latest suit. In her lawsuit, Stewart-Binks alleges that she was sexually assaulted by Dixon in 2016 while employed at the network. The complaint details how Dixon allegedly pushed her against a wall, pinned her arms, and forcibly kissed her following a meeting regarding an upcoming Super Bowl assignment.
Stewart-Binks reported Dixon’s conduct to a Fox human resources representative but claims the network chose to protect Dixon, allowing a sexual predator to remain in his position for nearly a decade. The complaint also recounts an incident where Dixon invited Stewart-Binks to his hotel room under the pretext of sharing a beer and enjoying the view. Despite experiencing alarm, she felt compelled to comply as he was her superior.
Once in his room, Dixon allegedly pushed her against the wall, pinning her arms and attempting to kiss her against her will. Stewart-Binks reported that he continued to press his body against hers and ignored her attempts to keep her mouth shut. As described in the complaint, he manipulated her pinned arm and tried to touch her chest, escalating the assault.
Stewart-Binks worked at FS1 from 2013 to 2016. Following the completion of her contract, she has been with various networks and media platforms including ESPN, Barstool, and Fubo. Currently, she hosts a podcast for BetRivers and works with SNY. Additionally, she has engaged in improv and stand-up comedy during her career breaks.
During her time at FS1, Julie Stewart-Binks emerged as one of the top rising stars in the sports media industry, especially after her notable coverage of the Women’s World Cup. The disturbing allegations she has raised against Charlie Dixon echo claims made by Noushin Faraji in her lawsuit.
Dixon did not respond to a request for comment from The Athletic. Meanwhile, Fox Sports issued a statement saying, “These allegations are from over eight years ago. At the time, we promptly hired a third-party firm to investigate and addressed the matter based on their findings.”
