The Baltimore Ravens are striving to overcome their playoff challenges and return to the Super Bowl. With multiple MVP winner Lamar Jackson at quarterback, Zay Flowers—the first Raven wide receiver to achieve a Pro Bowl nomination—and star running back Derrick Henry leading the offense, Baltimore appears to have all the right pieces in place. Nevertheless, Jackson and the Ravens fell short once again, this time succumbing to Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round of the playoffs.
As impressive as Jackson has been throughout his career, doubts are beginning to surface regarding his ability to conquer his postseason hurdles and secure the championship when it matters most. Despite this, the Ravens remain steadfast in their support for their quarterback, seeking to implement necessary changes around him to enhance the team’s overall chances of success.
One significant change involves parting ways with a longtime coach who closely collaborated with Jackson and the offense, as stated by a prominent NFL insider. “The (Ravens) and assistant head coach/pass game coordinator Chris Hewitt agreed to mutually part ways, per league source. Hewitt had been on staff since 2012, but both sides felt the timing was right for a fresh start. Hewitt interviewed for DC jobs last year and will have interest,” reported Tom Pelissero.

Fans shared their reactions on social media, with one noting, “Secondary struggled for 10 weeks and throughout the season with players having difficulty with depth, communication, and responsibilities, especially in zone. It was time for a change, good.” Another fan commented, “I said he should be the Giants’ HC if they fired Daboll since he probably had the Ravens’ system down perfectly, but that won’t happen anymore.” One more fan added, “Awesome young man who will be successful wherever he is.”
It’ll be intriguing to see where Hewitt lands next.
