On Tuesday afternoon, those browsing their X feeds may have noticed some questionable posts from veteran sports journalist Jemele Hill. The now-deleted posts appeared to promote her own “meme coin,” a type of cryptocurrency often linked to pump-and-dump schemes. One post read, “My $JEMELE meme coin is now live on solana!” while another stated, “I know you’re worried about me, but I wasn’t hacked,” accompanied by a manipulated image of Hill holding a piece of paper with the current date.
.@jemelehill hasn’t had control of her account for about 24 hours. She tells @FOS that somebody gained access to her account and changed her email address. The hacker then posted (since-deleted) about a meme coin (that is not anyway connected to Hill). @sports @support @lindayaX pic.twitter.com/MmUKQauLys

According to Front Office Sports reporter A.J. Perez, “[Jemele Hill] hasn’t had control of her account for about 24 hours.” Hill explained that a hacker accessed her account, altered her email address, and subsequently posted about the meme coin that had no legitimate connection to her. As of Tuesday evening, there were no further signs of the hack on Hill’s X account, although her activity remained absent; her last post dates back to Sunday evening.
