The Green Bay Packers made a coaching announcement on Monday that has stirred discontent among their dedicated fanbase. Head coach Matt LaFleur revealed that the team will keep special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia, who has been with the Packers since 2022. After a disappointing special teams performance this past year, many fans are less than pleased with this decision, raising questions and concerns about Bisaccia’s continued tenure.

Last season, Green Bay struggled with one of the worst special teams units in the NFL, ranking poorly in multiple categories and demonstrating issues with kicking, punting, and various other aspects of the game. This context makes the decision to retain Bisaccia particularly controversial.
In the playoffs, Green Bay was eliminated by the NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Wild Card round. Under new quarterback Jordan Love—who succeeded the legendary Aaron Rodgers—the Packers made the postseason for two consecutive years, with Love winning his first playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys before being ousted by the San Francisco 49ers.
Green Bay fans have not held back in their criticism of this decision.
Rich Bisaccia is awful. He has never been good at his job and has repeatedly cost the Packers big games and even entire seasons. Absolute incompetence to extend him. https://t.co/dNBk1j3rqL

MLF’s loyalty to Joe Barry nearly got himself fired. Now he’s doubling down with two more mediocre (at best) coaches. Gutey needs to make it clear this is a do-or-die year for MLF. https://t.co/uvdPUayaOg

“Game Management Adviser” is a new one for Bisaccia that I’ve seen. If he’s responsible for challenges, too, hoo boy. https://t.co/Yi8oZmf1Ky
