Colin Cowherd and Jason McIntyre are an ideal pairing in many ways; their dynamic on The Herd has proven successful. However, they’re likely the last people you’d want assisting with an Immaculate Grid. Recently, McIntyre made a minor mistake at the end of Friday’s show while discussing the top 10 players in the NFC Championship, focusing on the Buffalo Bills-Kansas City Chiefs game.
In a relatively straightforward discussion, Cowherd analyzed the Bills’ depth chart, highlighting their strengths with players like Matt Milano and Ed Oliver. Yet when it came to finding more contributors, McIntyre mentioned “Edmunds” but trailed off, mumbling something inaudible. While it may have referred to Tremaine Edmunds’ impressive nine tackles in the 2022 AFC Divisional Round, it’s noteworthy that he hasn’t worn a Bills uniform since then.

A former first-round pick from Virginia Tech, Edmunds signed a four-year, $72 million deal with the Chicago Bears in March 2023, earning an average annual value (AAV) of $18 million, though possibly not in the way McIntyre imagined. While mistakes happen, this one’s relatively harmless; still, considering Edmunds hasn’t been with Buffalo for over two years, it raises questions about the show’s accuracy.
We don’t need to delve too deep into recent archives to recall Cowherd erroneously crediting Kirk Cousins for the Minneapolis Miracle instead of Case Keenum, or the earlier instance this season when he mistook Christian Wilkins for still being with the Miami Dolphins, while McIntyre mistakenly thought Matt Ryan was still at the helm of the Falcons. Just last season, McIntyre was raving about young New York Giants quarterback Tyrod Taylor, who will be turning 36 this August. Although both hosts know their sports, The Herd seems to suffer from these types of errors more frequently than other programs.
If the Bills were to utilize Edmunds on Sunday, the Chiefs could counter with Charvarius Ward or possibly L’Jarius Sneed – it’s only fair.
