With the 2025 NFL draft finally arriving this week, fans are eagerly following every story, report, and rumor to figure out their team’s next moves. While the draft picks take center stage, the possibility of trades adds to the excitement as each team positions itself for a strong showing next season.
On Monday, Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals fans found themselves intrigued when they checked ESPN.com and saw that the Bengals had agreed to trade for left tackle Cordy Glenn. This announcement sparked discussions, but wait…
Cordy Glenn has been out of football since 2020 and the report was made by Josina Anderson, who left ESPN in 2020. As it turns out, this trade did indeed happen, but back in 2018.
We’re uncertain about how this confusion arose (we’ve reached out to ESPN for clarification), but it appears that a news article from March 12, 2018, mistakenly received a revised posting date of April 21, 2025, causing it to be displayed in their Bills and Bengals sections. Although this is a relatively harmless error, it has perplexed many fans on Reddit and other social media platforms.
This is a story that’s listed in the “My News” tab on ESPN and has today’s date on it.
Please note that this trade happened 7 YEARS AGO.

@GregTompsett Did you see the “news” on ESPN that we traded Cordy Glenn? Way to be on top of it, ESPN, 7 years later. pic.twitter.com/j75hnTRcLx

For some reason, ESPN posted a story this morning announcing that the Bills are trading Cordy Glenn to the Bengals. Probably looking to move up in the draft. Fingers crossed for Sam Darnold or Josh Rosen!

We’ll have to see how the news of this trade from seven years ago impacts the Bills and Bengals’ strategies in the upcoming draft.
