At 80 years old, the legendary New York Knicks player Walt Frazier still exudes confidence. The two-time NBA champion and MSG color commentator recently published a children’s book titled “Winning & Grinning,” celebrating his brilliance on the court and his alliterative analysis on television.
During a promotional appearance on TODAY, Frazier showcased his signature charm when he learned that cohost Dylan Dreyer, who began her career as a TV reporter in Boston, was a Celtics fan. He playfully acknowledged her allegiance at the start of the interview, saying, “I won’t hold it against you,” while displaying his left hand adorned with his two NBA championship rings, adding, “These are two that they didn’t get, Dylan.”

Frazier’s titles in 1970 and 1973 are among the most beloved moments in New York sports history, even though they occurred over fifty years ago. Frazier has every reason to celebrate his legacy in midtown Manhattan. Having recently stated that retirement is still far off, Clyde is expected to continue his vibrant presence. This spring, he will be on the call as the Knicks aim to end their long-standing championship drought and possibly add another banner at Madison Square Garden. Should they succeed, he’ll have yet another ring to display the next time he encounters a bothersome Celtics fan.
