In the chaotic realm of NBA Centel and Ballsack Sports, it’s essential to verify any report encountered on social media. Despite the frequent misinformation, including instances where sports media professionals are misled, there will always be enough individuals ready to share and amplify a narrative that appears believable, regardless of the facts.
This leads us to a claim made by “Sean Wright,” an alleged “NBA Insider,” professing to have been featured in major outlets like ESPN and CNN, though they seem to lack any credible affiliation. The account tweeted on Wednesday that “#UCONN head coach Dan Hurley and the Denver Nuggets have mutual interest in the #Nuggets head coaching position. Sources tell me Hurley is expected to meet with the Nuggets brass soon.”
After firing head coach Mike Malone in a shocking decision just days before the NBA Playoffs, it was logical for many to think the Nuggets would pursue a high-profile replacement, lending some credibility to Wright’s report and causing it to go viral. However, while Wright likely gained followers from the buzz, the downside of virality is that it can attract scrutiny from actual journalists who can readily verify claims.
On the Denver side, the response came swiftly from Woody Paige, a longtime columnist for the Denver Post and The Gazette, who asserted, “There is no mutual and no interest.”
Somebody we’ve never heard of claims Nuggets and Dan Hurley have mutual interest in coaching job. There is no mutual and no interest. Other than that, everything else is ridiculous too.

Paige further addressed the initial claim with a concise reply.
Wrong.

On the UConn side, Daily Campus reporter Sam Calhoun, who extensively covers UConn basketball, also weighed in with a brief response to the “report.”
This is not even close to true https://t.co/t12QBNe3fM
