SF Giants and KNBR Sign Four-Year Extension Through 2028

Since their relocation from New York in 1958, the San Francisco Giants have primarily been aired on Bay Area radio station KNBR, a tradition that will persist. The Giants celebrated their 2025 home opener on Friday, with team President Larry Baer making an appearance on KNBR’s morning show, “Murph and Markus.”

“We’ve been married for a while, right? KNBR and the Giants,” Baer remarked, to which host Markus Boucher confirmed the partnership’s inception in 1979. “That’s a couple years,” Baer continued. “When you have a really good, long successful marriage, what do you want to do? You want to keep it going. We were just talking a little bit about politics and the team ‘Four more years.’ What do you think about four more years of KNBR and the Giants?” A voiceover announced that the new agreement will last through the 2028 season, marking the 50th year of collaboration between the Giants and KNBR.

Continuity is essential for Giants broadcasts, both on television and radio. Shortly before the season started, the Giants announced contract extensions for their four primary announcers—Jon Miller and Dave Flemming for radio, along with Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper for television. Fans in San Francisco will not only recognize the familiar voices but will also continue to hear them from the same reliable outlets.
