Grant Hill has been a leading analyst for the NCAA Tournament for a decade and, thanks to a new contract with TNT Sports, he is set to continue in this role for many more years. The former Duke star and Basketball Hall of Famer has signed a long-term extension with TNT Sports, where he has worked as both an NBA and college basketball analyst. However, starting next season, Hill’s NBA responsibilities will be shifted as the league enters new television agreements with ESPN, NBC, and Amazon.
In light of this change, TNT Sports will enhance their college basketball coverage, incorporating the Big East and Big XII, with Hill at the forefront, as noted in a network announcement.
TNT Sports has reached a long-term extension with Grant Hill, a Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer and two-time NCAA Basketball Champion. Hill will continue as a lead game analyst on TNT Sports and CBS Sports’ collective coverage of the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, while also broadening his contributions to TNT Sports’ coverage of BIG EAST and Big 12 basketball, set to commence in the 2025-26 season.
Hill, a Duke legend involved in one of the most memorable moments in NCAA Tournament history, joined TNT Sports in 2013. He will call the upcoming NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship on April 7, marking his 10th appearance providing game analysis for the event.
“College basketball has had such a profound impact on my life, as a student athlete and now as a broadcaster. I thoroughly enjoy being closely connected to the collegiate game, the student athletes who compete, and their amazing stories,” said Hill. “I’m thankful to TNT Sports for the opportunity to continue this journey together and look forward to what promises to be a fantastic Final Four weekend, among many more to come.”
While Grant Hill could have been an appealing candidate for game or studio analyst roles with new NBA partners like NBC or Amazon, NBC has already appointed Reggie Miller and Jamal Crawford as lead analysts. There was also potential for a fit at ESPN before they named Richard Jefferson as a permanent fixture on their lead NBA Finals broadcast team.
Ultimately, this new contract enables Hill to remain with TNT, spearheading their college basketball expansion for the regular season while continuing his role in calling the Final Four alongside Ian Eagle and being part of the recently named best broadcast booth in sports.
