While it’s clear that Hanson will play a significant role, speculation about exactly what function his voice will serve is rampant on social media. The existing game announcer roles have been confirmed, with Brandon Gaudin returning as the play-by-play voice for Madden 25 alongside color analyst Charles Davis. Additionally, two new broadcast duos were introduced: Mike Tirico with Greg Olsen and Philadelphia 76ers play-by-play announcer Kate Scott with former NFL QB Brock Huard. Some theorize that Hanson could be the voice for a new in-game studio show, akin to Chris Berman’s role in earlier versions of the game.
Moreover, Front Office Sports previously reported that Hanson’s contract with NFL Media concluded at the end of the 2024 NFL season, and he was exploring free agency. Michael McCarthy from FOS revealed that Hanson had discussions with NBC Sports about a “wide-ranging job that could include Olympics and NFL coverage.” Regardless of what his specific role will be with Madden 26, it has been reported that he is spending time in the recording studio for EA Sports this spring.
