The Cincinnati Bengals are currently facing significant challenges. Besides a growing contract dispute with star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson, the team is also navigating issues related to their lease at Paycor Stadium, which will expire on June 30, 2026, unless they opt for a two-year extension before that date.
During the annual league meetings, team executive V.P. Katie Blackburn addressed the lease situation. “We play it day by day, and like everything else, we just continue to have discussions, see where things are, and then have to make decisions at the appropriate time,” Blackburn mentioned, according to Pro Football Talk.
If the Bengals choose not to exercise their option, they could potentially relocate the team, a possibility Blackburn acknowledged. “We could, I guess, go wherever we wanted after this year if we didn’t pick the option up,” she stated. “So, you know, we’ll see. Like I said, all these things will be done in due course. We are having discussions, and we’re hopeful that the county is considering this issue and wants to resolve it in a mutually beneficial manner.”
If an agreement is not reached soon, tension may escalate in the upcoming months, potentially leading to significant changes for the franchise and the league as a whole.
