This was evident again on Tuesday when contract negotiations between the organization and star pass rusher Micah Parsons became public. Early reports indicated that the organization and Parsons had verbally committed to each other, following an offer for a contract extension that would stand as the most significant deal for a non-quarterback in league history. However, Parsons’ agent, David Mulugheta, was not involved, and Parsons appears to want to pause contract discussions until Mulugheta can review the terms.
“Jerry Jones shows blatant disrespect to Micah Parsons’ agent David Mulugheta: ‘The agent is not a concern here … I don’t know his name.’ Mulugheta is one of the most respected agents in the NFL, and Parsons is wise to have him on his side,” tweeted Cowboys writer Clarence Hill Jr. Parsons later responded, stating, “Facts!! David is the best and I will not be doing any deal without (him) involved! Like anyone with good sense, I hired experts for a reason. There is no one I trust more when it comes to negotiating contracts than David! There will be no backdoors in this contract negotiation.”
