After a prolonged and public struggle, Comcast and the YES Network have reached an agreement. Joe Flint of the Wall Street Journal shared the news via a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday night, which included a brief joint statement from both parties: “Comcast and YES have reached an agreement for continued distribution of the YES Network,” Flint stated.

In a follow-up, Flint noted that the specific details, particularly the duration of the agreement, remain unclear. He suggested that the phrase “continued distribution” may imply an extension rather than a new agreement.
FYI it’s unclear how long this is for and the words “continued distribution” suggests (to me anyway) an extension vs a new pact. https://t.co/fn5Y5IOkkd

Shortly before the start of the 2025 MLB season, YES and Comcast had previously reached a temporary extension that prevented blackouts of YES broadcasts, including New York Yankees games. However, this extension lasted only until Monday night. During Sunday’s Yankees game, YES CEO Jon Litner criticized Comcast for its refusal to negotiate. YES remains the primary home for both the Yankees and the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets.
