Ahead of Monday’s home opener, the Milwaukee Brewers paid tribute to Bob Uecker, the longtime voice of the team who passed away in January. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Brewers shared a video showcasing the view of American Family Field, where the grass in shallow centerfield features Uecker’s signature cut into it. The post is aptly captioned, “A perfect addition to our home.”

Additionally, a tarp draped over several rows of upper deck seats in the outfield features the message, “I must be in the front row,” with Uecker’s signature underneath. This tribute references a Miller Lite commercial starring Uecker.
Since his passing, Uecker has been honored in numerous ways. The Brewers — past and present — have spoken highly of his legacy, and the team’s announcers have also paid tribute to him. During the Milwaukee season opener against the New York Yankees, which was televised by ESPN, Bill Schroeder, the Brewers’ regular TV analyst, highlighted the significance of baseball, the Brewers, and Milwaukee to Uecker.
