Former NFL star and current Thursday Night Football analyst Richard Sherman shared alarming footage on X from a burglary that took place at his Washington state home over the weekend, just one day before his 37th birthday. According to TMZ, at least three masked intruders broke in through a window, with one reportedly armed with a handgun.
“House being robbed at gun point with my family in it isn’t what anyone wants for a birthday gift,” Sherman stated. “Scary situation that my wife handled masterfully and kept my kids safe. If anyone has any info that can help find these people please reach out.”

In response to a follower who suggested he use his own weapons for protection, Sherman replied, “Guns help but bullets flying from me or them in a house with my kids is not where I’m trying to be.” Currently, few details about the investigation are available, but authorities are looking into the incident as reported by TMZ.
A five-time Pro Bowl selection during his 11-year career, Sherman has remained active in the media since retiring after the 2021 season. He is a key part of the Amazon Prime Video Thursday Night Football pre and postgame shows and previously appeared regularly on FS1’s Undisputed before its cancellation last year. Additionally, he hosts The Richard Sherman Podcast, which gained notoriety last year for his candid remarks on Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter’s future as a wide receiver. As demonstrated throughout his career, Sherman is unafraid to speak his mind, so further updates regarding the burglary at his home may be expected.
