Los Angeles Lakers rookie guard Bronny James has generated significant discussion in NBA circles since being drafted as the 55th overall pick in the second round. Many believe his selection was primarily due to his family name, as he is the son of Lakers superstar forward LeBron James. After a challenging start to the NBA season, it appeared that his critics were justified. However, after beginning to share time with the South Bay Lakers, the G-League affiliate of the Los Angeles Lakers, Bronny’s performance showed steady improvement throughout the season.
Now, the young guard is truly finding his rhythm. In a recent game against the Milwaukee Bucks, Bronny scored 17 points on 7-10 shooting over 30 minutes, contributing 3 rebounds and 5 assists. Then, on Monday night, during a game for the South Bay Lakers, Bronny elevated his performance to new heights. “Bronny James could not be stopped! The (Lakers) draftee recorded a career-high in scoring and achieved his third 30+ point game this season,” reported the G-League’s official Twitter account. Fans reacted enthusiastically to his dominant performance on social media, with one fan stating, “I judge people’s basketball acumen based on their assessment of him.” Another speculated, “Next season bruh gone average 15+ in the NBA… then the year after that 23+ in the NBA… then after that it’s gone be history.” Someone else chimed in, “THE APOLOGIES NEED TO BE COMING IM BY THE BOAT LOAD.” It will be interesting to see what role Bronny takes on with the Lakers as the playoffs approach.
