One of the final NCAA Tournament games on Sunday featured a South Region matchup between No. 6 Ole Miss and No. 3 Iowa State. A social media post from the New York Post indicates that there was some confusion on their part. Their X (formerly Twitter) post was a link to an article on how to watch the game, accompanied by two photos: Sean Padulla on the left and Payton Sandfort on the right. Padulla, a guard for the Rebels, and Sandfort, a forward for the Iowa Hawkeyes, were mistakenly paired together in the graphic.

A note indicating “Readers added context” pointed out, “The image shows the Iowa Hawkeyes, not the Iowa State Cyclones who are playing in today’s game.” The responses to the post made it evident that a mistake was made.

In response to the mix-up, Sandfort offered a humorous reply to the error.
