Fans of any sport often assert they could outdo the professionals they watch from home. Recently, NASCAR Truck Series driver and broadcaster Parker Kligerman put that theory to the test by launching a new YouTube series. In this series, he invites fans with no driving experience to compete in a variety of challenges for cash prizes.
Do you think you could be a race car driver? So many of you on the internet often tell me you can be. So I wondered if there was a way we could try and prove it. I put $5000 of my own money on the line, if people can beat me.

The challenges consist of three tasks designed to test the fans’ driving abilities, with increasing prize amounts of $500, $750, and $1,000 for top performers. Additionally, if the leading challenger can best Kligerman, they will receive double the prize for each task.
The first challenge required contestants to accelerate quickly and stop in a designated area. The second involved navigating a turn as quickly as possible, while the third tested the drivers with a sequence of right and left turns. Competitors included Tara Dega, Rick, Austin, and Kligerman’s brother, Bard.
On paper, the challengers appeared to have little chance against Kligerman. Surprisingly, Bard, who lacks experience as a high-level driver and is currently the CEO of a real estate investment and management company in Connecticut, excelled in the challenges, winning all of them. In fact, he also defeated Kligerman in the first two, despite Parker’s format allowing him only one attempt compared to two for the competitors. Ultimately, Bard earned $3,500 of his brother’s money.

While these challenges don’t truly reflect how a fan would perform in a competitive racing environment, Kligerman’s idea is intriguing. He mentioned on X that he was inspired by the show Win Ben Stein’s Money, which aired on Comedy Central.
So funny. Literally was one of the inspirations that I thought of for it

This video series from Kligerman is set to continue, as he included a link for fans to enter as contestants in future episodes. He humorously suggested that the cash prizes might decrease if he continues to struggle against Bard.
“If you think you can be on this and be faster than me, definitely go in the description, there is a link there. Best comments might get invited to be on the show. We may not be playing for as much money, we’ll find out,” Kligerman remarked.
