Lamar Jackson to Make Acting Debut in Starz’s ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan’

Several NFL players have transitioned to successful acting careers, including Jim Brown, Alex Karras, Fred Dryer, Ed Marinaro, and Howie Long. Now, Lamar Jackson is set to join their ranks in the acting world.

People magazine recently reported that the Baltimore Ravens quarterback will make an appearance in an upcoming episode of Power Book III: Raising Kanan on Starz, where he will guest star as a character named E-Tone in the show’s fourth season.

Jackson is enthusiastic about this new opportunity. “I’m so excited for fans to see me in this new role and thrilled to be a part of Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” he shared in a statement to People.

Set against the backdrop of the 1990s, the series traces the early life of Kanan Stark, originally portrayed by producer Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, as he supports his mother’s drug operation in South Jamaica, Queens. While details about Jackson’s character remain unclear, People speculated from teaser photos that he will have ties to Unique, played by rapper Joey Bada$$. Jackson described E-Tone as “a deadly, dangerous character” and cautioned, “you don’t want to get on his bad side!”

New episodes of Power Book III: Raising Kanan season 4 premiere on Fridays at midnight (ET) on Starz, though a release date for Jackson’s specific episode has not yet been announced.
