March Madness embodies a celebration of tradition. We cheer as Cinderella stories unfold, sing “One Shining Moment,” and inevitably root against Duke. However, as the tournament progresses, the overwhelming presence of repetitive commercials quickly becomes grating, often before we even reach the Round of 32.
Last year, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren haunted us with their “What a Pro Wants” AT&Tad. Geico’s “Scoop, There It Is” echoed demands for it to stop, while we all tried to forget Applebee’s Shrimp Sensations.
Now, just days into the 2025 NCAA Tournament, we’re already fatigued by several commercials playing on repeat. What seemed amusing the first time now evokes a desperate plea for relief with every airing. We asked our readers which 2025 March Madness ads they’re tired of, and two offending ads clearly dominated the conversation.
No. 1 The Geico Pig
This seemingly nostalgic ad, around 15 years old, has lost its charm. Its return is met with groans from viewers who are eager to switch off that pig’s head—after all, at least Mike McGlone is enjoying those residuals.
I say “I cannot believe we are doing this again” a lot these days, and seeing the return of the Geico pig commercial has been a true example of that

That pig should’ve been bacon by yesterday
The Geico pig commercial is already driving me insane and it’s only day one of the tourney

i would roast that geico pig for 18 hours low and slow

No. 2 Jason Bateman/Batman
Initially entertaining, the Bateman/Batman concept has lost its luster after countless viewings—imagine how grating it becomes after the 63rd time.
I missed the deep-voiced Geico guy, so not that one. The Bateman/Batman one is instant leave the room.

It’s Bateman by a mile. Holy crap who wanted this?
What’s the over/under on how many times we see the Jason Bateman/Batman commercial? Is it a million?

The Bateman Batman commercials were kind of funny the first couple times, but every commercial break of every March Madness game is a bit much

Honorable Mention
It’s not just these two commercials making waves; fans are also growing weary of the troublesome Mountain Dew Seal commercial (a leftover from the Super Bowl), Blake Griffin’s “Guarantee Guys” AT&T ad, the Liberty Biberty spot, and every snippet of the Capital One commercial. Let’s be real, we’re all overly familiar with these ads already!
