Longtime Chicago sports radio host Dan Bernstein is no longer with Audacy’s 670 The Score after a disturbing incident on social media last week that involved threatening to dox a follower. The station announced Bernstein’s departure during their midday show on Friday, with Mitch Rosen, vice president and brand manager of 670 The Score, providing the update.
“We want to share some important news with our Score listeners, partners, and teammates,” Rosen stated on-air, as reported by Barrett Media. “We are announcing today that Dan Bernstein no longer works at The Score. We wish him nothing but the best and thank him for his time and service.”
Bernstein’s social media altercation arose after he shared a photo of a fish he caught, which led to accusations of violating catch and release rules. In response, he threatened to reveal the accuser’s personal information and stated he would involve their “kids.” Following this incident, Bernstein was off-air for the entire week, and on Friday, it was confirmed that he would not be returning. Having joined The Score in 1995, Bernstein had become a fixture in Chicago’s sports media landscape over three decades, co-hosting various shows.
Along with losing his position at The Score, Bernstein was also removed from the board of directors of Camp One Step, a Chicago-based program for children with cancer. Despite some support from his former colleague at The Score, Danny Parkins, who deemed the decision to remove Bernstein “awful,” the station ultimately severed ties due to his social media comments.
This is not the first controversy for Bernstein; he has recently made headlines for other confrontational incidents. Last year, he reacted aggressively to Barstool’s Barstool Eddie for calling him by his last name, sparking a feud with Dave Portnoy and causing unrest among his colleagues. As of now, The Score has not outlined any plans to replace Bernstein, but their website has already removed him from the midday show page, listing Marshall Harris, who joined the lineup in September 2024, as the solo host.
