We have made it to Round 2 and the Sweet 16 of our 2025 Best Broadcast Booth Bracket, thanks to over 10,000 votes. Awful Announcing is identifying the top broadcast booth in sports. Round 2 has seen some major upsets, with one of the biggest being ESPN’s NBA Finals team of Mike Breen, Doris Burke, and Richard Jefferson being defeated by Amazon’s Al Michaels and Kirk Herbstreit, who previously placed 8th in our annual NFL announcer rankings. Additionally, Tom Brady and Kevin Burkhardt were unable to overcome ESPN’s lead NHL team of Sean McDonough and Ray Ferraro.
Both McDonough and Joe Davis showcase their skills with two distinct booths in the Sweet 16, highlighting their versatility as leading play-by-play announcers. While football is prominently represented in individual sports, various leagues such as the NHL, NBA, MLB, PGA, college basketball, and soccer also have participants advancing.
You can check out all the Round 1 matchups here, including the 16 broadcast booths that did not make it through. The polls can be found below the brackets at the bottom of the page. Happy voting!
