It was only a matter of time, but NBC has confirmed that Noah Eagle will be one of the lead announcers for the highly anticipated return of the NBA on NBC next season. At just 28 years old, Eagle is a rising star in the industry, acclaimed as one of the most popular play-by-play voices today. Whether covering football, basketball, or other sports, he has consistently delivered impressive performances.
According to NBC’s announcement, Noah Eagle will call games for the NBA on NBC, working “one or more games per week beginning this fall,” alongside his role calling Big Ten Saturday Night basketball games on Peacock. This adds to his responsibilities covering NBC’s primetime Big Ten football package and occasional NFL games for the network.
Emmy Award-winning sportscaster Noah Eagle will serve as one of NBC Sports’ play-by-play voices when its coverage of the NBA begins in October 2025 across NBC and Peacock. He is expected to work one or more games per week beginning this fall in addition to handling play-by-play for Big Ten Saturday Night. Since joining NBC Sports in 2023, Eagle has been a play-by-play voice for many high-profile events, including Team USA basketball at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Big Ten Saturday Night football, Big Ten men’s basketball on Peacock, and even calling an NFL Wild Card game and regular season NFL games for NBC and Peacock, including Nickelodeon’s telecast of Super Bowl LVIII.
Noah Eagle is likely to be the NBA on NBC’s #2 play-by-play announcer behind Mike Tirico, which should provide him with numerous high-profile games during the regular season and playoffs. An important question remains regarding his broadcast partner and how NBC will structure its main broadcast teams. Mike Tirico and Reggie Miller appear to form the #1 team for the NBA on NBC, but will Jamal Crawford join them in the lead booth, or work alongside Eagle in the second team?
The answer likely hinges on whether NBC can finalize a full-time deal with Dwyane Wade, who impressed alongside Noah Eagle during the Olympics in Paris last summer. Ideally, Wade and Eagle would continue their partnership, while Crawford lends his talents to Tirico and Miller. Regardless, it seems the NBA on NBC is set to have two outstanding announcing teams for the foreseeable future.
