If you’re even slightly acquainted with Skip Bayless, you’re aware of his unwavering dedication to the Dallas Cowboys. However, after the team’s disappointing 7-10 season and missing the playoffs for the first time since 2020, his devotion is quickly morphing into disdain. Not only did Bayless have to witness his beloved Cowboys struggle, but he also had to endure the Philadelphia Eagles capturing a Super Bowl title.
Throughout the years, the former FS1 host has experienced numerous public meltdowns over the Cowboys. In his latest dramatic four-minute rant shared on X, he took his frustration to an extreme by swapping his Cowboys jersey for an Eagles one, hoping to alter the luck of both teams. “It has come to this for me,” he remarked as he grabbed the new jersey. “I have now purchased, with my own money, this jersey featuring a quarterback I have always loved, Jalen Hurts, and a team I have always hated, the freaking Philadelphia Eagles. I hate this color; it makes me sick to my stomach. It has come to this ladies and gentlemen. Behold Cowboys Nation… What do you think? Fly Eagles fly! It is your fault, Jerry Jones! You made me do this!”

To be fair, Bayless has long supported Jalen Hurts, who had a standout season at the University of Oklahoma before making his mark in the NFL. Nevertheless, publicly singing the Eagles’ fight song seems to represent a new low in Bayless’s Cowboys fandom. Only time will reveal if his new ‘good luck charm’ will shift the fortunes of both the Cowboys and the Eagles in 2025. One thing is clear: Bayless is desperately hoping for a Cowboys Super Bowl appearance for the first time in 30 years.
