Two Baltimore reporters, Justin Fenton from The Baltimore Banner and Brian Wacker from The Baltimore Sun, are clashing over the coverage of sexual misconduct allegations against Ravens kicker Justin Tucker. Fenton criticized an article shared by Wacker on The Sun’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, claiming it misleadingly suggested that The Sun had exclusive reporting and had consulted multiple massage therapists about the claims.
This is intentionally written to make it seem like The Sun has broken this latest story, and that they have talked to a number of massage therapists making claims. They have not. The Banner broke this story this morning,& has talked to 17 therapists while The Sun has spoken to 1 https://t.co/cMV7Yrvo11

Wacker responded to Fenton’s allegations, asserting that his article was accurately reported and that he provided credit to The Banner’s reporting. He challenged Fenton’s assertion about the sources and highlighted that The Banner may have had the initial update, but that did not undermine his own work.
Excuse me? Absolutely not written/reported that way. Accreditation is also given re The Banner’s reporting throughout. You also have no idea who I talked to or when. Did The Banner have an update up first? Yes. But next time you start spewing BS about me try getting facts right

The back-and-forth continued, with Fenton stating, “The thing where you keep writing in every story that the two outlets have spoken to 17 ppl is HIGHLY misleading, and there is no argument otherwise. I’ve got my facts right. Have a great day.”

Wacker countered Fenton’s claims, stating, “I’ve written four stories and contributed to a few more on Tucker. Not once have I written that both outlets spoke to 17 people. The only thing misleading and actually factually incorrect is what you’re saying.”

As of now, this exchange marks the conclusion of their argument.
