Soccer fans who enjoy watching matches in bars or restaurants can celebrate, as UEFA Champions League matches are now available for commercial establishments. CBS Sports has reached a deal with EverPass, a company that streams live sports content to venues like bars and restaurants.
According to Mollie Cahillane of Sports Business Journal, this multiyear agreement grants EverPass clients access to all Champions League matches, including CBS Sports’ whip-around program The Golazo Show. For individuals who wish to watch Champions League games outside of commercial venues, subscriptions to Paramount+ remain available.
EverPass has established a reputation for distributing streaming-only live sports to bars and restaurants, enhancing the viewing experience for fans. The company has previously secured deals for Amazon’s Thursday Night Football and Netflix’s Christmas Day NFL games. In this competitive landscape, DirecTV for Business is a notable rival, holding rights for properties like Apple TV+’s Friday Night Baseball package.
Considering that soccer culture often encourages group viewing and supporters groups gathering at the same venue to watch games, this deal seems beneficial for all parties involved, including fans who prefer the communal atmosphere of a bar to avoid the cost of a Paramount+ subscription.
