Henrik Lundqvist played 15 seasons in the National Hockey League and faced the Boston Bruins 23 times in Boston. Surprisingly, he has no idea where Massachusetts is located on a map of the United States.
TNT has expertly crafted a lively atmosphere for their NHL studio show, reminiscent of their renowned NBA program, Inside the NBA. While Paul Bissonnette often steals the show with his outrageous antics and sharp insights, this time it was Lundqvist’s moment to add some humor. The crew was playfully guessing the birthplaces of Four Nations stars, and when asked about Chris Kreider, his former teammate from Boxford, Massachusetts, Lundqvist confidently noted it was “in the Boston area” but humorously ended up marking his answer near Bluefield, Virginia.

While Lundqvist hails from Sweden, it’s worth noting that he has lived in New York City for 20 years as both a player and commentator. Having visited Boston numerous times, it’s surprising he couldn’t pinpoint it on the map. This isn’t akin to asking him to find Butte, Wyoming, or Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, so we can’t let him off the hook easily.
On a related note, a geography bee featuring NHL and NBA teams on TNT might be more entertaining than what we witnessed during the NBA All-Star Game.
