For the second consecutive week, Oklahoma softball star Ella Parker has earned recognition as her team roars ahead in the season. After yet another unbeaten week filled with run-rule victories, the Southeastern Conference has named Parker its co-Player of the Week once more, sharing the honors this time with Arkansas senior Bri Ellis.
According to the SEC’s release, “Oklahoma’s Ella Parker, a sophomore utility player from Los Angeles, Calif., recorded a .750 batting average and scored in every game in the Sooners’ four run-ruled victories at the Getterman Classic.” It’s been quite a weekend for Parker, who is showcasing her talent on a formidable Sooners team.
Oklahoma is off to a strong start in 2025, aiming for a fifth consecutive National Championship. Currently, the Sooners boast an impressive 10-0 record, with five of those victories coming as run-rule wins. Over the weekend, they dominated their former Big 12 rival Baylor twice and convincingly defeated Hofstra on two occasions as well.
As Parker and the Sooners continue to dominate, it raises the question of who could potentially halt their momentum. The Women’s College World Series seems to be in their sights again this summer, leaving fans wondering who will challenge them in Oklahoma City.
