For Parker Kligerman and his fans, Friday night was a long one as he competed in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at Daytona. Despite several trucks wrecking on the final lap, Kligerman stayed clear of the chaos and crossed the finish line with both the checkered and yellow flags flying, seemingly winning the race.

However, late in the evening, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series announced via its official X (formerly Twitter) account that Kligerman had been disqualified due to his truck failing post-race inspection. Consequently, Corey Heim, who had crossed the finish line second, was declared the winner.

“UPDATE: The No. 75 truck has been disqualified following post-race inspection at @DAYTONA for being too low in the rear,” the announcement said, referring to Kligerman’s truck. “@CoreyHeim_ has been declared the winner of tonight’s race.”

Initially thinking he’d won, an excited Kligerman proclaimed it to be “the biggest win of my entire life.” This marked a bittersweet moment, as Kligerman had experienced heartbreak before; in last October’s race at the Charlotte Roval, he believed he had secured his first Xfinity Series win, but a caution was signaled just before he crossed the finish line, leading to a fifth-place finish and eventual elimination from the Playoffs.
