Everyone anticipated that many F-bombs would be dropped during the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl Parade and the celebration that followed. However, local TV stations appeared unprepared for the onslaught.
The City of Brotherly Love was in high spirits, celebrating the Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. Fans filled the streets of Downtown Philadelphia, and every TV station was there to document the event, likely having their censors on standby to cut the audio at the first sign of an expletive. Yet, it seemed their response time fell short throughout the day.
The festivities kicked off awkwardly when Eagles offensive lineman Landon Dickerson approached a Fox 29 reporter while high-fiving fans, seizing the microphone and exclaiming, “ALL I GOTTA SAY IS GO F*CKING BIRDS!!!”

“We apologize; Landon has had himself a few,” remarked one of the studio anchors, a common refrain throughout the day. You’d think censors would be prepared the next time Dickerson grabbed a microphone, but they remained a beat behind.
“I don’t even have words to describe how happy I am right now,” Dickerson addressed the crowd of enthusiastic Eagles supporters. “After [2022], feeling that loss, I didn’t ever want to feel that sh*t again.” Fox 29 attempted to cut the feed, but they were too slow, leaving the studio anchor to manage the fallout. Amusingly, as soon as they restored the feed, Dickerson dropped another bomb.

The staff at NBC 10 experienced similar difficulties. Meanwhile, Dickerson was not alone in his expletive-laden outbursts; wide receiver A.J. Brown managed to slip in his own F-bomb, shocking viewers who perhaps expected a more subdued response.
“They said I was a diva. They said all I care about was stats,” Brown stated. “You gonna get all those things wrong about me, but one thing you’re gonna get right… I’m a f*cking champion!”

Numerous NSFW moments occurred during the parade as well, but none encapsulated the day’s chaos for local TV stations and anchors quite like this instance.
This sums up the day for Philadelphia local news anchors.
“F*ck Patrick Mahomes!”
“Alrighty. And we apologize for that, again, live TV, things happen, y’know?
“I didn’t even hear it, that’s how much I’m used to it.”

To be fair, the children of Philadelphia have likely heard these words before and might have even used them themselves during the celebrations.
