The Dallas Cowboys are keen to bounce back after a disappointing 2024 season that resulted in them missing the playoffs, just a year after winning the NFC East. Star Quarterback Dak Prescott shared his thoughts with reporters on Tuesday about the team’s plans to improve next season under first-year head coach Brian Schottenheimer, according to the team’s official website.
“We just got to get to running the ball and being a little bit more consistent on that. From there, we can evaluate the numbers. I’ve always enjoyed the play-action pass, but it starts with the run game; once that’s established, the rest of the offense can open up,” Prescott emphasized, expressing confidence in Schottenheimer’s abilities. “He’s not going to take anything about this game lightly. He enjoys the work, kind of old-fashioned. I’m looking forward to the grind and the new ideas he’s going to bring. I know he’s ready for it; he’s been in the system a long time.”
Fans took to social media to react to Prescott’s statements. One fan commented, “It seemed to me that when they finally committed to Dowdle as the lead back at the end of this past season, their running game really took off.” Another fan humorously advised, “As a Giants fan, please don’t get Jeanty,” while someone else noted, “They need a better O line also.” It will be intriguing to see if the new regime heeds Prescott’s insights.
