Paul Pierce is no stranger to being surrounded by women on camera, and he might take that to the next level in a future season of The Bachelor. On Tuesday evening’s episode of FS1’s Speak, Joy Taylor brought up Pierce’s interest in becoming the next Bachelor, to which the former Boston Celtics swingman expressed confidence, saying, “Hey, if I’m on The Bachelor, let’s go, I’m ready.” Taylor then reminded him that he would have to “propose on the show… you’re gonna get married again?” Pierce hesitated slightly, responding, “I’m ready,” but also revealed he was just beginning to embrace the idea, stating, “Why not… I’m looking for love.”

Keyshawn Johnson and Michael Irvin joined the conversation with jokes, suggesting they already see a real version of Pierce playing the role of The Bachelor every day. Irvin joked, “I hope they got enough roses! Because Paul is passing them out to everybody. ‘You get one and you get one, meet me in the room and you meet me later.’ It will be hard to dwindle that down to one. I’m just letting you know, I spend some time with him.”
It felt odd to hear such banter amid recent sexual harassment lawsuits involving FS1, one naming Joy Taylor as a defendant. However, Speak seemed unfazed by the situation, as this conversation had initially stemmed from Kevin Garnett, who asked Pierce about the idea on their podcast. Garnett questioned him, “Would you do The Bachelor?” to which Pierce quickly responded, “I probably would,” adding a preference for a less traditional format than the ABC show.
Pierce may have missed his chance to be the next Bachelor when he parted ways with ESPN. Having him on The Bachelor while at ESPN could have been an exceptional opportunity for cross-promotion. Now that he’s with Fox Sports, it seems ABC may be less inclined to choose Pierce, especially after his unexpected departure that followed an Instagram Live session with several exotic dancers.
So, while the possibility of him appearing on ABC might be slim, it doesn’t mean Pierce isn’t interested in finding love and potentially creating his own version of The Bachelor to monetize the experience.
