The Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX trophy presentation, led by Terry Bradshaw on Fox, started off in an unexpected way with a hot mic incident. After securing their second Super Bowl title on Sunday night and putting an end to the Kansas City Chiefs’ chances for a three-peat with a decisive 40-22 victory, the Eagles took the stage to accept the Brady Trophy – or rather, the Vince Lombardi Trophy. The trophy presentation featured an unusual hot mic moment right from the beginning.
Fox NFL Sunday host Curt Menefee initiated the presentation, passing it over to Bradshaw on stage, who responded with a hot mic comment, saying, “I gotcha, Curt.” However, moments later, another unexpected voice popped up during the broadcast. “I said after the trophy lift,” the unidentified voice exclaimed in an annoyed tone. “I said after the trophy lift. Oh my god, I said after the trophy lift.”

While many social media users speculated that it might have been Tom Brady expressing frustration about plans following the trophy lift, the voice seemed deeper than Brady’s. Moreover, it would be odd for Brady to be caught on a hot mic, given that he wasn’t involved in the postgame show or trophy presentation.
It’s more plausible that Fox had Bradshaw’s microphone active after Menefee threw it to him. It’s conceivable that someone standing next to Bradshaw inadvertently spoke into his mic while directing traffic on stage. As a consequence, we missed the start of Roger Goodell presenting the trophy to Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie on the broadcast. Regardless of who was responsible for the mix-up, we hope any issues were resolved after the trophy lift.
