Aaron Rodgers’ future with the New York Jets has become more certain. Fox NFL insider Jay Glazer reported Sunday that the veteran quarterback will not return to the franchise next season, leaving his NFL career in limbo. The Super Bowl-winning quarterback may choose to retire or attempt to sign with a different team.
However, CBS NFL insider Jonathan Jones was confident months ago that Rodgers wouldn’t be taking another snap for the Jets after the 2024-25 season. During his November report on the Jets’ firing of general manager Joe Douglas, Jones left no doubt that the new regime would not count on Aaron Rodgers next season. “If you think he’s back for the Jets next year, JB, I have a bridge to sell you,” Jones stated while speaking to CBS host James Brown on The NFL Today last year.

Jones can take a victory lap for this prediction; the Rodgers saga is set to be one of the biggest stories this offseason, and he had insight into it even before the regular season concluded.
