Giants Superstar Seeks Experienced Quarterback

As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, the New York Giants are connected to several quarterback prospects. Star wide receiver Malik Nabers is enthusiastic about the future quarterback for New York but emphasizes the importance of having a seasoned veteran to mentor any young talent that joins the team. With the No. 3 overall pick in the draft, the Giants hold a strategic advantage, but this year’s quarterback class is perceived as relatively weak at the top.

Most draft experts identify Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders as the only reliable quarterback prospects early in the draft. This situation could compel the Giants to consider trading up for a top-two pick to secure their desired player, or they might opt for a reach at their current pick or wait until the second round to find their future quarterback. No matter what the scenario is, Nabers stresses the need for a veteran mentor to guide any rookie quarterback as he enters the league.

“I would want to have a vet in there,” Nabers stated in a conversation with Pro Football Talk on Wednesday. “If we decide to pick a rookie, I would want a vet in that same room with him, teaching him so when he’s out there, he’s not just in his head thinking he has to be the savior of this team. That’s a lot to put on a rookie.” Rookies lacking proper mentorship often face significant struggles, making it crucial for the Giants to consider hiring an established veteran to lead the organization in the right direction alongside any new quarterback.
