Dick Vitale’s return is just around the corner, as ESPN announced that the beloved college basketball analyst will be calling the Duke-Clemson game this Saturday. He will join play-by-play announcer Dave O’Brien and analyst Cory Alexander.

Vitale, now 85 years old, has not been behind the microphone since the 2023 NCAA Championship game between UConn and San Diego State due to multiple cancer diagnoses. Initially diagnosed in 2021, he was declared cancer-free the following year, but the disease returned in July 2023. Fortunately, the legendary announcer revealed in December that he is now “clean of cancer.” “Yes I’m cutting the nets down baby it’s my National Championship!” Vitale celebrated in an X post at the time.
SANTA CLAUS came early as Dr Rick Brown called & said that my PET SCAN at 7 AM came back CLEAN OF CANCER ! His anticipated return to the booth was initially set for January 25 during the Duke vs. Wake Forest game. However, he had to postpone that after suffering a fall. Now, with his return imminent, the college basketball community is filled with excitement.
Can’t wait to have you in Littlejohn, @DickieV!!
